CORE follows the activities promoted by Ingeniarius, whose motto has been “Thinking Beyond Engineering”, reflecting the key element of innovation and research promoted by the academic partners, pouring into disruptive proofs-of-concept, which aims for the industrial and commercial exploitation of knowledge associated with new technologies, with particular focus on Intelligent Systems and Robotics and Sports Engineering and Health Technologies.
This research focuses on Soccer Wearable Technologies as a promising field in scientific, technological, and economic aspects. This research deals with different approaches from several perspective. For the scientific viability, it namely treats the development and the interest of the scientific community in this technology, in addition to the technological aspect in which it evaluates the hardware and software tools that are available. Concerning the economic viability, it demonstrates the interest of economic players and potential investment for future interests.
This research intends to demonstrate the feasibility and technological prospect of serious games and mixed reality for future scientific aspects, mainly exploring mixed reality technologies, providing important definitions and scientific background, In addition to the technological aspect in which the software and hardware solutions related to the field of study are treated , The economic in the viability section briefly approaches some markets prospects regarding Mixed Reality Technologies and serious games, while searching for key players.
This CORE component focuses on perception techniques for field robots, namely MoDSeM. MoDSeM is a software framework for spatial perception supporting teams of robots, aiming to create a semantic map able to represent all spatial information perceived by teams of field robots. Preliminary experiments took place in a 100x100x100m simulated map to demonstrate our prototype’s ability to receive, store and retrieve spatial information. Results show promising performance in all aspects of the task, supporting future developments.
This CORE component focuses in aquatic robotic technologies, mainly in multi-robot systems cooperation for several applications, such as water quality monitoring, mapping and localization, underwater infrastructure surveys.
